Doubling Up
Sometimes you gotta
Yesterday was awesome. Always amazing to see the guys, great to meet Jeffrey, beautiful day to hang outside in NYC, and really fun to see the Dude and co. on the big screen — great to get a closer look at Knox Harrington and his facial expressions, the cop digging through the Dude’s ashtray as he shatters the dream of recovering his Creedence tape, etc.
Unfortunately, there was some funny stuff going on with departures from Penn Station, and I didn’t get home until close to 1, way later than planned. I knew I’d be super tired today and would need something extreme. Something indulgent.
My preference was an untimed nap, but given a few things on my calendar, that wasn’t possible. So I set an alarm for an hour (with a couple of short snoozes tacked on) in bed. That was out of sheer necessity. Then came the indulgence: an untimed couch nap a few hours later (prob around 30, took a while to lose consh). Was it necessary? It depends on what the meaning of the word “was” is, jerk. But I can say with certainty that that second nap was very important. It was for me. It was for all of us.
While Evan wasn’t able to go under today, Hen snagged one around 1:15 and was hoping for (but couldn’t swing) a second. Technically a trifecta — good thing I’m out there, takin’ ‘er easy for all us sinners.
