Colonoscopy Nap 3
Now that's what I call efficiency
“We’d really like to hear more about your colonoscopy,” came the feedback in droves. I guess there’s a hole in our reader’s lives that I need to fill.
Since the main goal of a colonoscopy is to introduce the napping experience to men over the age of 45,1 the story can’t end with the nap during the operation itself. As alluded to in his comments to my post, there are napping reverberations for days. In my case, I actually didn’t nap later that afternoon. One nap per day is usually good for me, although I’ve been known to double dip — one good turn certainly deserves another, as they say. Double nap day versus a flex…that’s an interesting debate for another day.2
However, for the next few days, anytime I went to nap I was pretty immediately lights out, at least by my standards. Normally, on a 30 minute timer, there’s a drop off of at least 4-5 minutes, and certainly as much as 15-20, leaving only 10 minutes of actual lost consh. Post-colonoscopy, I was routinely dropping 30 minutes gross, 29 minutes net. This was the gift that kept on giving.
In conclusion, the colonoscopy experience was a 4.5 out of 5 stars. High marks for falling asleep quickly during the procedure, not being super groggy when awakened, no memory loss and multiple days of high yield naps. I take off half a star for the prep. I’ll keep everyone updated after my next one.3
Or those younger with family histories and/or other potential issues.
The real answer is double dip by taking a flex and then popping an afternoon nap. But I want to leave this untouched for future posts.
My doctor said to do it again in 7 years. Stay tuned!
