30 Minutes
Come on
As we gear up for NND, we’ve decided to rhapsodize about naps of various lengths (see Henrietta’s recent coverage of the 15-minute nap). I wound up with the 30-minute nap, and I’ve got a lot of thoughts and feelings.

This I believe, in no particular order (other than the order they came up in my mind, which may be telling):
I believe a 30-minute nap reminds me of the Yankees — undoubtably the best over time (note that I am not a sports fan, this is just my sense).
I believe a 30-minute nap is industry standard if you’re a scientist.
I believe most people who set an alarm to nap set a 30-minute alarm.
I believe most people who don’t set an alarm to nap go for longer than 30 minutes.
I believe that if you nap for longer than 30 minutes or set a 30-minute timer, wake up, and immediately hit snooze (or want to but can’t), you need the sleep and should take it if you can.
What else is there to say?
I guess I’ll say that long story short, my wife and I have a few days to ourselves this weekend. I’m hoping that during that time, we’ll see Creed III (working our way through Creed and Creed II on HBO), go to the schvitz, and take a nap — my plan is to convince her to try for a 30-minute timed nap to see if she goes for it…I’m willing to settle for 25. We shall see!
