Animating Figma's SVG Exports

Hi there!

One thing that’s always been a black box for me is Figma’s SVG exports; they tend to work perfectly when all you need is a static icon, but I tend to find them difficult to work with when I need to animate those icons.

Over the last few weeks I worked on a new blog post that goes deep into the intricacies of Figma’s SVG exports, including ways to:

• Organize the Figma files to make the output easier to work with;

• Rework the output in code to implement the animation that you want
