At WorldCon & In Haste
I’m just back from GenCon and am packing for WorldCon, so I’ll do a longer convention report for both events later.
For now, my WorldCon schedule:

THURSDAY 5pm - Signing, Forbidden Planet Glasgow
FRIDAY 1pm - That’s A Mixed Success, panel on success & failure in RPGS, Meeting Academy M4 Friday
FRIDAY 7pm - Grimdark with a Smile, Forth Room
At some point, I’ll also swing by the PS Publishing booth to sign copies of Heartsong: A Mythago Wood anthology, but I probably can’t make the official signing event on the Saturday.
I’m combining Worldcon with a family holiday, so I’ll have the kids in tow. Any recommendations for stuff to do in Glasgow with two 11-year-olds and a 5-year-old chaos gremlin?
And speaking of holidays, I wrote a piece for the Irish Examiner about my own childhood holidays and fantasy. The article’s behind a paywall, but I’ve attached a pdf copy.
GenCon was stressful but rewarding. Moria was everywhere - giant posters on the walls, ads in the con guide, a stream of interviews, even tiles on the floor. But most importantly, it was in people’s hands.
