The Is the End… Of the Year, My Friend

Hi y’all! This will be my last newsletter of the year, and I wanted to wrap it all up on happy things, and YES there will be a raccoon this time, I promise!

  1. Hot new prose poem up at scaffold: An Angel Came to Me

  2. Paranoid Tree Press puts out a such beautiful zines, and I’m so honored to have Feels Like Rain out in the world with Kelly Emmrich’s beautiful art.

  3. Award season is upon us, and I am so grateful for the following nominations this year:

    • Rabbit Rabbit, Kiai!, Folklore Review, October 2024 – 2026 Best of the Net nominated

    • The Sounds of Summer Camp, Does It Have Pockets, September 2024 – Monarch Queer Literary Award nominated

    • Making Étouffée, Hotch Potch Literature & Art, January 2025 – Pushcart Prize Nominated

    • Nervous Thing, Pithead Chapel, March 2025 – Best Small Fictions nominated

    • I’ll Be Waiting, Peatsmoke Journal, April 2025 – Monarch Queer Literary Award nominated

    • Family Patterns: Cyanocitta cristata, Claudine, September 2025 – Pushcart Prize & Best Microfictions nominated

  4. It’s social media official, check out the Mason Jar Press announcement about Family Night on Bluesky and Instagram! Special shout out to Liz for being such a great editor!

  5. This is really 3.5: I’ve set up an Instagram again, solely for book and writing related things.

  6. This raccoon is clearly trying to not touch the snow, which I find very relatable as an indoor cat.
