It's Too Hot For Newsletter Titles, Sorry

  1. This is Milkweed is up as part of Exposition Review’s ‘Spring’ Issue. It’s another Horsegirl story, y’all!

  2. Read Our Daughters Never Seem to Come Home to Us, a micro about selkies and motherhood, at FlashFlood.

  3. Fastball made the Wigleaf Top 50 Long List! So grateful to Fractured Lit for publishing this one, and if you’re at all into softball lesbians, please check it out! As well, one of my very favorite authors (Gerardo Sámano Córdova, author of Monstrilio, which is SO GOOD, expect more on this later!) judged this year. And you absolutely have to check out every story on the Top 50, trust me. I think this is such a tremendous thing Wigleaf does in support of the flash community.

  4. Federal School Safety Act 2029 by Sage Tyrtle is one of the best stories I’ve ever read about guns and schools, it transcends satire even as it uses it so effectively to build this mounting sense of what I can only call OHNO. It hurts to read, but do it anyway. CW: gun violence, children, bird death

  5. Prompt: let this raccoon guide you in writing something new and smol!

A small raccoon stands with its paws up, looking like it really wants a hug! It probably just wants a snack, and like, me too most of the time.

Thanks for reading, y’all!
