All These Stories Are About Love, Even the Raccoon
The Weather is Perfect, a story about bad things happening on nice days, was part of kicking off Fictive Dream’s Micro Monday series, along with incredible pieces by Sheree Shatsky and Kathryn Kulpa. The thing is, this is a mostly true story from almost twenty-five years ago when one of my brothers died, so tw for loss of a loved one, dog bites, and being stuck in the emergency room on a day when it seems like nothing else can go wrong.
Peonies are my favorite flower (actually all flowers are my favorite) and the title of this story in Wigleaf.
I’ll Be Waiting, another piece about young love in the Horesgirl series, is living its best life at Peatsmoke Journal. (I’m so attached to these weirdo girls!)
Do You Want to Become a Wolf by Elena Zhang is one of the best stories I’ve ever read. It hits me in the weird preacher’s kid part of my childhood, it hits me in the wild part of my girlhood, it frankly just fucking hits, period.
We’re in the middle of moving, everything is in boxes or plastic tubs, or in the way, and I can’t wait to be done with it, here, HAVE YOUR RACCOON:
