📌 A WILD SUNO HANDS-ON HAS APPEARED!!
Date & Time: Thursday, Nov. 05 (6 – 9 PM)
Location: 370 Jay St, 1201 Seminar Room
A hands-on session in teams of one to four. Supported by Suno, which is giving every participant one month of Suno Premier.
about SUNO:
Suno is a text-to-music system: a prompt and optional audio in, a full track with vocals out. The question for the night: would it have a place in your creative process, or not? Each team gets two hours and a Suno account to make one track of up to two minutes; Suno can sit anywhere in the process. Then every team plays its track and gives a one-minute account of the pipeline: what Suno generated, what they did outside it, and what they wouldn’t hand to it. Two awards: best track, voted by the room, and best creative workflow, judged by a panel. We’ll open with a short introduction to the model, the interface, and where the company came from. Pizza and drinks provided. Bring a laptop and headphones. No background needed. Open to all NYU students.
Space is limited. Register early to hold your spot!

📌 Next General Meeting: Low-Level Approaches to Electronic Music
Date & Time: Monday, Nov. 9 (5:30 - 9:30 PM)
Location: 6th Floor Conference Room, 35 W. 4th. St
Join us for our next General Meeting where instrument designer, synthesizer builder, musician and music technologist Mason Mann will be walking us through the corner of bare-bones and low-level music technology! Topics to be covered include embedded audio programming, TempleOS, the demoscene, electronic music, and audio-focused electronics.
About Mason Mann: Mason Mann makes music, builds instruments, and engages in other artistic applications of technology. He has a generally pessimistic view of technology but uses it quite often. He teaches classes related to digital signal processing and electronic music at NYU.
🎈 Previous Meeting Recap
On Monday, electronic music producer and sound designer Rishi Krishnan (aka Sycobox) hosted a creative sound design workshop. The session explored his creative process, showing how intuition, experimentation, and unconventional noises yield distinct sounds. And also Rishi broke down his personal techniques while demonstrating how to embrace happy accidents during production. Hope you learned something from the meeting!
