#92 *Checks notes*
Issue #92 *Checks notes*
13th December 2023
Hey there!
Thanks for reading my newsletter.
Nothing much to report this week. All my classes are ending for the holidays but I've seen some absolutely stunning work in these final weeks. Really proud of everything my students have achieved. A perfect creative end to the year.
I also led some sessions for Aha Consultancy which gave me a chance to revisit my time working in the charity sector. Aha's thing is to foster and nurture curiosity and I was really encouraged to discover the many ways in which improv can complement and enhance that process.
I'm getting excited about the opportunities coming up in the new year.
But for now, here's fun...
Rule of three

[Twitter] The Scrollback of Alexandria
As Twitter burns, The Verge has dedicated itself to preserving the very best historical tweets as cultural artifacts. Here then is its great tweet archive. I actually started to cry, I was laughing so much.
Marisa Tomei's name is an anagram for "it's-a ME, Mario!"

[Dance] Improvised West Coast Swing
Improvisation isn't just for theatre, it can also be used for *checks notes* DANCING. Seriously, if you have 2 minutes, watch this improvised dance. It's astonishing and fills me with a visceral joy at their momentum, synchronicity and playfulness.

[Lip Synch] Jonathan Bynoe
Jonathan Bynoe lip synchs to music, but to describe what he does solely in those terms is to do the man a huge disservice. He puts such personality into it. This Busta Rhymes one is my favourite but click around his TikTok to find many more amazing examples.
Spotlight
It's the end of the year. So I'm not selling anything. Ha!
