14th September 2022
Hey everyone!
Chris Mead here, coming down from another week of wonderful shows and wonderful people at the Robin Hood International Improv Festival in Nottingham.
So today I was gearing up for a big announcement. I wrote a nice long essay about it. But then a thing broke and now we'll have to wait until next week.
It'll almost definitely be worth the wait.
Please enjoy this slightly truncated newsletter nonetheless.
Rule of three
[Speech] Michael Sheen
I'm English and after watching this I also want the Welsh to win whatever sporting event he's talking about.
[Words] Exocentric verb-noun compound agent nouns
The rules of English grammar make no sense at the best of times but I found this word construction twitter thread particularly charming.
[TV] Queer Eye
I love Queer Eye. We've now started to watching versions from different countries and the episode It's About Seeing Love from Queer Eye Brazil (in which Los Cinco Fabulosos help a single father) hit me like a tonne of bricks. Joyous bricks.
Ephemera
The brilliant Invi Brenna documented A Well-Made Play at the RHIIF with this beautiful piece of art. I love the idea that spontaneous theatre can be captured in this way. Check out their instagram feed @invibrenna.
