Masha's Roulette #4

Welcome to the fourth issue of my weekly random grab-bag of recommendations newsletter, where I will show you some things to read and some things to listen to, and my solemn promise that at least one item in here will be new and interesting to you.

First, Some Things to Listen To

(I've decided this tweet is just really accurate to my listening recommendations every time.)

A new song by my beloved Pinocchio-P just dropped and it is a banger like all of his songs ever. It is called 2:30 life remaining and it is good.

I had to drive for 6 hours straight twice in three days and so, I listened to my roadtrip playlist while doing so. Except I use the same playlist every time, so I got bored and demanded the Youtube Music algorithm pull songs out of the ether to entertain me for most of my drive today. It provided me with whatever this is by Taiwanese group Bisiugroup, which is a total banger. Also, the cult of dionysus by The Orion Experience, which I had not heard of before but enjoyed while driving through Connecticut.

Now, Some Things to Read

I have never played Persona 5. Or any Persona game. I can at most recognize the characters on sight. I will almost certainly never play this game myself. But. The other day I saw a link on Twitter to a fic retelling the plot of Persona 5 (supposedly, I cannot verify this on account of never playing the game) through Reddit posts, and I thought this was such a funny concept I had to read it and the fics inspired by it and linking to it and so I present to you a selection of fics retelling the events of Persona 5 through Reddit posts, fake Discord server logs, and Twitter chats. I'm really impressed with everyone's CSS styling, especially for the Twitter fic where it would've been so much easier to just post screenshots into a thread on Twitter itself like most Social Media AUs do at the expense of readability. Anyway, here they are!

Summary: ‘Hey, bro, it’s sort of weird that you keep erotically wrestling a customer on Big Beef Bowl House’s counter in front of me and my salad.’

I am very tired after all my driving and carrying heavy things today, so I am going to lie on the couch and finish reading that private Twitter Persona 5 fic mentioned above while listening to more random music on shuffle.

I'll be back next week with more things to listen to and read!
