I recently read through The Far Reaches. As a set of short stories on Kindle, it's a perfect fit for my life right now. It's also quite good! With Todd's recommendation and including the likes of Scalzi and James S. A. Corey, I couldn't pass it up. Worth your attention if you like the idea of bite-sized, thought provoking sci-fi.

Like many in the game dev space, I have been following the slow-motion train wreck that is Unity's pricing changes. I am hopeful that this will drive more investment toward Godot, which is an open-source game engine that recently hit 4.0.
Casey Muratori (who was sounding alarm bells about Unity for a while) wrote up this post comparing a variety of alternative game engines. Godot seems to be the main indie-friendly alternative, although Unreal is likely to gain some market share as well.
If you are interested in trying Godot, there is a Humble Bundle with a bunch of Godot ebooks for the next 15 days.
