Tony's Pick
Kyle's Pick
I enjoyed this interview with Scott Dikkers, founder of The Onion, about writing comedy. Some of his advice is common — separate writing and editing, try morning pages to overcome writer's block, focus on delivery over perfection — but it's interesting to see those tips reinforced once again. I also enjoyed some less-standard takes, like:
- Make the headline funny, then get funnier
- Comedy is basically peek-a-boo for adults
