Kyle's Pick

Been reading a decent amount about Apple's Vision Pro announcements at WWDC over the last couple of days. As someone who has worked remotely for the better part of a decade, I'm more interested in AR/XR/VR as a tool for improving remote work than as a consumer device beyond gaming applications.

That said, I enjoyed these musings from Andy Matuschak, who was a designer and engineer on iOS. I was specifically interested in learning about the "templates" for side-by-side, surround, etc as a way to standardize some common patterns for virtual interactions. I think the analogies to Dynamicland are interesting as well — "What if programs live in places, live in physical objects in your space?" as opposed to inside a headset? Or maybe there's a way to combine these ideas?

Not sure how this will all turn out, but there are some interesting possible futures here.

she had to sell everything to afford Vision Pro
