The tropical cyclone is steadily gaining strength as it moves toward the West Australian coast, putting the Coral Coast on alert. Perth isn't expected to cop a direct hit, but the city could see heavy rainfall Friday and Saturday as the system passes. It's a rare path for a cyclone to take across the continent.
