They sound professional and may even know some of your personal details, then ask you to 'verify' your identity by providing your PIN, passwords, or banking app codes to 'secure' your account. How to protect yourself: β Your bank will never ask for your PIN, passwords, or SMS codes over the phone β Hang up and call your bank directly using the number on your card or statement β Don't be pressured by claims your account will be frozen - legitimate banks don't operate this way β Be suspicious if the caller asks you to move money to a 'safe account' - this is always a scam |
