New Shows + Patreon Drive
We’ve got a lot to share, so I’m gonna make this one down to business. JUST THE FACTS.
The fact is, we have launched a ton of new shows (and a new website!) since the last time you got one of these in your inbox.
We welcomed our Class of 2023 shows:
Alone at the Table: “An actual play podcast where host Audrey takes you through solo tabletop games - journaling, rituals, oracle-led, or otherwise.” I will add, it’s like an AP podcast by way of Bob Ross :)
Gahooligans: “CJ and PB revisit the Guardians of Ga’Hoole series, and learn some neat owl facts along the way.”
So Emo I Fall Apart: “A podcast dedicated to exploring all things emo and pop punk from the 00s and today. Updates every second Saturday! Surprise [Emo Emergency Bulletin] episodes as stuff happens in the current scene!”
Select and Start: “Against his better judgment, Keifer Lirette loves video games. Join him each episode as he invites various guests to talk about their most meaningful and memorable video game experiences.”
Plus one more show in this class that we’ll announce a little later on!
And if that wasn’t enough, we also had several established Moonshot hosts launch new shows:
Learning Tarot Together, hosted by Felix, former host of legacy podcast Summer Twilight Book Club:
“Full time social worker, part time tarot enthusiast brings guests and listeners along on their journey through learning all 78 tarot cards.”
Felix also offers tarot readings here: https://twitter.com/epsilina/status/1597703562628169729

The previous draft of this newsletter was announcing the first episode of this next podcast, and this time I’ll be announcing the last. The positive spin on that is that the whole thing is waiting for you. Andrew, podcast idea genius (you’d hope, right, he gets practice weekly on The Podcast Mines) came up with
Mild Manor'd, a MILF Manor podcast starring Andrew and his mother:
“Andrew’s ready to subject himself to a unique dating reality show recap podcast, but there’s a twist! Andrew’s Mom is along for the ride, too! They’re watching MILF Manor, TLC’s new reality show about hot moms being forced to date each other’s sons, and they refuse to sit in uncomfortable silence about it.”
It was designed as a show that could end at any time if Andrew’s mom got too uncomfortable, and thank god it didn’t, because not only was it a great run, the ending was a particularly beautiful bit of podcasting in this newsletterer’s opinion.
Additional Postage Required, a sci-fi audio drama created by Jay Petrequin, produced by Chris Hutton (who also wrote/cowrote a couple episodes), and featuring the voices of many merry Moonshot hosts:
“Clem Bianchi is a courier, delivering mail in space one job at a time in a future where mankind has settled among the stars faster than communications technology can keep up. When a chance encounter awakens them to the ability to hear conversations tied to their mail, they embark upon a journey of adventure, conspiracy, and connections made across the stars.
Additional Postage Required is a biweekly audio drama podcast, chronicling Clem’s adventures as they take on jobs, explore the new abilities at their disposal, and become entangled with the lives of their clients. APR is created and written by Jay Petrequin (@extremesalsaing on social media), co-written and co-produced by Chris Hutton (@topherdisgrace) and stars Kai Swanson as Clem.”
You can also support the APR Patreon.
Kame House Party
“On a hot NYC roof in the summer of 2016, new friends and improv teammates Vince and Aaron made a pact to create the greatest Dragon Ball comedy podcast in existence. Join them every Tuesday as they attempt to watch every episode and iteration of Dragon Ball with humor, love, and a fighting spirit.”
A new season of Riley Hopkins and Their Amazing Friends, Dragon Ball Uuber
“The actual play podcast Riley Hopkins & Their Amazing Friends has created 14 episodes of a Dragon Ball fanwork. Join Riley, Chris Hutton, and Jeff Stormer as they craft a new sequel series to Dragon Ball Z and Super that includes flashy battles, characters confronting their pasts and expectations, and amusing filler arcs taking place even in divorce courts.”
PHEW. Now that all those cats are out of this bag, what’s that at the bottom?
A PATREON DRIVE?!
PATREON DRIVE (April 1-April 30)
The money we make through Patreon lets us have a larger budget for big events (like the Dunk Tank or our May streams), but also for basic QOL expenses like buying new mics or commissioning show art and music. We say all the time that nobody does it like Moonshot, and more funding will only allow us to be bigger and better as we head into Year 2 as a network.
For the Patreon drive, we have tons of bonus content for $1+ patrons, including:
► "Why Wyoming?" Episode 2
► Actual plays of Lancer and Stewpot
► Pre-recorded Q&A about bookclub pods featuring 6 Moonshot hosts
► Champs episodes 80 and 81
► TWO Once-Missed Wonders eps, the first Once Missed Blunders on Birdemic and a bonus episode on Prince of Egypt
We are also planning on hosting our first (of hopefully many) GAME NIGHT with our $5 patrons, and expanding the tier beyond Minecraft for anyone who wants to enjoy monthly excursions into multiplayer or co-op games with the Moon Crew. Remember our Fall Guys stream? Yeah, we want to do more of that.
Our main goal for this month is one new or upgraded patron per day, each day in the month of April. The first patron to sign up or upgrade their tier each day will become the PATRON OF THE DAY, and will get a special shout out on Twitter, Tumblr, and the Moonshot community Discord! We will also keep a calendar showing each day's Patron of the Day for the entire month of April.
As a reminder, if we hit 80 patrons, we will record a special Champs in the Making event where we do a full Neopets bracket. At 100, we will commit to regular broadcasts of Parliamoont, a Twitch show where a rotating cast of Moonshot creators debate over pop culture, rank tier lists, have Powerpoint nights, and more.
You can also make a one-time donation! You can either sign up for an annual subscription to the Moonshot Patreon, or make a smaller one-time donation to our Ko-Fi page. Donating on Ko-Fi will not unlock any Patreon exclusive content - it essentially functions as a tip jar that adds to the same budget as our Patreon payouts.
Here’s a word from PB & CJ of new show Ga’Hooligans:
“The Moonshot Network provided support for us to commission professional cover art for Ga'Hooligans. We now have far better art that really captures the spirit of the show than we ever could have gotten without the funds provided!”
So please consider supporting the Patreon Drive one way or another!
As if you needed any more from us, here are this past month's
MOON BOONS
This March, our patrons will have received:
-Two early releases of Champs in the Making, our Pokemon bracket podcast.
-One An American in Paris (1951) episode of our Patreon exclusive Once Missed Wonders, where we watch classic movies for the first time.
-One episode of our Patreon exclusive Moon Reports, where Riley interviews Moonshot hosts about their history as creators. This month’s episode features Jory of Citizen Hank, Casual Wrestling Fan Podcast, and the beloved Jory Zone!
UPCOMING EVENTS
- 3 day Moon Carnival stream to benefit Trans Lifeline, May 26th through May 28th. Here's the trailer.
That's all for this month, pals. We recently had our first All Hands meeting of the year to go over our numbers from 2022, and I'll just say that you all helped make our first calendar year as a network a rousing success and you've given us a lot to be excited about as we move toward our second year.
Stay mooned!
