Many Happy Returns of the May!
Many Happy Returns of the May!
It’s that time again–Moonshot Network is doing our annual three-day May stream to raise money for a good cause! We’ll be broadcasting from May 24th through May 26th in a beach-y, spring break inspired event called MOON-GARITAVILLE!
This year, we’re fundraising for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), a voluntary health organization focused on funding research into treatments and cures for every type of blood cancer, as well as information and advocacy for patients. You can check out the full schedule for the weekend, but some highlights include:
Celeste and Balatro races!
A new group of hosts trapped in the Trivia Wizard’s puzzle torment dimension!
A Piranha 3D table read!
The Unofficial Highlander II: The Quickening Roleplaying Game!
The return of Smack Talk Showdown and Moonshot Vehicle Arbitration!
We also have donation incentives again this year, such as:
A late night block featuring the Interstitial: Infinity cast in-character
A Moonshot Blood on the Clocktower stream
A God Game finale that might last up to 5 hours
We Hunt Riley For Sport (In Minecraft)
As always, you can find any and all of our streaming endeavors at https://moonshot.mov/, and our donation page for this event at https://tiltify.com/@moonshotnetwork/moongaritaville. We hope you’ll join us for a weekend of fun and fundraising!
Champs In The May-King
Pokemon fans, place your bets! The best idea for a podcast of all time is approaching its final rounds. Which Pokemon will be crowned the best? (This writer hopes Snorlax will prevail.) The final rounds will air this month. Catch episodes early on Patreon, or later on the Moonshot feed!
If you’re mad about the results, don’t forget to vote in the The People’s Champs on Tumblr, an ongoing bracket decided by the voters!
Two Whole Years of Moonshot
Did you know Moonshot celebrated its 2nd anniversary this past April? To celebrate, Andrew, Marn, and Riley got together to build a theme park in its honor in Planet Coaster. You can watch the highlight reel Jay put together of that stream right here.
Other recent highlights on our Youtube channel include:
Moonshot on Kickstarter!
Moonshot mainstay The Maniculum seeks money for their magic item deck, Marginal Worlds! This system-neutral expansion pack is a collection of 50 hand-illustrated magic items pulled directly from the colorful pages of the medieval manuscripts Zoe and Mac podcast about, with excerpts featuring each item in its original context. It also includes a detailed Game Master’s guide with additional descriptions and lore, and appendices for both D&D 5e and optional play.
Marginal Worlds begins kickstarting on June 1st! You can sign up to be notified when it launches.
Also coming up next month is a Kickstarter for a new audio drama powered by Moonshot! The Disappearances of Lydia Fountayne is a production from veteran podcasters Sarah McClintock (Pod of Greed, No Peace, Tintintin-Tin Tin-Tintin) and Thom Coffyn (Mobile Suit Breakdown, Never Mind the Trollocs).
Set in a deceptively familiar world of big data, perpetual surveillance, and machine-mediated communication, The Disappearances of Lydia Fountayne follows Lydia and her friends - lovelorn Ethan and wannabe internet sensation Dee - as they struggle to discover the secrets of Lydia's identity, survive the feud over her inheritance, and unravel the mysteries of her grandfather's supernatural dominions. It weaves bitter family feuds and high-stakes intrigue together with light sci-fi, fantasy, and cyberpunk elements to create a ‘magical surrealist’ audio drama about secrets, grudges, and legacies, old books, Big Data, and the power of infinite knowledge.
The DOLF crew has made a 1-hour pilot episode with performances by a diverse and talented cast of more than twenty voice actors, original music by ff00ff, and a unique soundcape designed by Mellow Code. You can listen to the pilot right now, and sign up to be notified when the Kickstarter launches.
That’s all we’ve got for you this month, listeners! Thanks for staying tuned to another edition of Moon News!
