MOON BULLETIN - one year of bulletin-ing
Last moon bulletin of the year! Rounding out the end of my first year keeping this newsletter, I’ve been reflecting on all the wonderful serendipitous moments that have emerged from it. What started as a small offering to moon-loving friends has grown into… well, an offering to slightly more moon-loving friends. And that’s how I want it to be! It’s always a journey to divest from platforms, but I’ve been proud that this year has really felt like a commitment to building something different, not just refusing the parasitic default options for connection. Thank you all for coming to hang out and being a part of my life, in ways big and small <3.
As the nights finally start to lengthen and we settle into the deep winter ahead, I’m slowing down alongside my metabolisms, letting cozy deceleration be the flavor of my season. But I think, too often, we can interpret that as translating to solitude and loneliness. We can ease up, together! More soups, more baking, more dancing, more movie nights, more hanging out just to hang out. I’m looking forward to sharing in the slowness with yall :)

🌔 NYE666 in Crown Heights: Waxing Gibbous (Wed Dec 31 @ 7:30pm). We’re hosting a chill but also probably a little bit insane NYE party. Come by earlier for soup or later for dancing and ritual. I will be spinning some tunes and confessing my secrets before I’m cleansed by the spirit of the new year… or something like that. Free, reply to RSVP.
🌔 2026 Inauguration Block Party at City Hall: Waxing Gibbous (Thu Jan 1 @ 11am). Recovery from new year’s celebrations can look like celebration of a different kind. Maybe 2026 can really be our year… Free.
🌔 The Poetry Project’s 52nd Annual New Year’s Day Marathon at St. Mark’s Church: Waxing Gibbous (Thu Jan 1 @ 1pm). Hundreds of poet performers going til midnight. 52 years!! That’s, like, twice as old as I am. Words in the description from The Poetry Project include propulsive, creative velocity, in-your-face, meditative. All good energy to start the year with. $30.

🌕 Wolf Moon in Park Slope: Full Moon (Sat Jan 3 @ 7pm). First full moon of the year means a great time to dream about the future. This will be a community ritual and also a time to give/receive support for any intentions you have moving into 2026; please bring an object that represents beginnings for our communal altar <3. Free, RSVP for address.
