MOON BULLETIN - i am so blessed...
Winter isn’t done with us yet. Sunday night, following a couple of margaritas (blizzard drink of choice, naturally), my roommates and I braved the mostly-empty streets of park slope to dive into the rapidly growing piles of snow. Making our way to a playground, we went down slides, rode swings, and attempted to use the monkey bars. On the way home, we were belting I Am So Blessed by Karen Drucker (warning: Vermont woman is shockingly earnest…) while walking in the middle of the typically-busy 5th Ave. How joyous!
Just a couple days earlier, we were all at a loft in East Williamsburg for Let’s Get Off Together — a celebration of offline nightlife — dancing the night away with phones safely stored away in pouches. I’ve been feeling the late-winter angst, but these two nights revitalized me, connecting me with others and with the natural world. Lately, I’ve been supporting this class at the School of Radical Attention called How To Flourish, and the readings and discussion have mostly been affirming what I know to be true, through these practices. It is vitally important to gather in these times, to practice being together and being with the land. That’s what the Moon Bulletin is all about, too — gathering under moon cycles, relishing in opportunities to be offline and in-person. Hope to see some of yall at the delights ahead of us until the last quarter moon.

🌗 Quietest Places in New York City Book Launch at Rizzoli Bookstore: Last Quarter (Tue Mar 10 @ 6pm). Nicole’s book pairs beautiful watercolors with thoughtful writing that explores the various places you can go to in NYC to calm down and enjoy some quiet. But she also asks what makes some parts of the city quiet, and others not so much, offering a welcome critique of how fossil fuels and inequality shape the sonic landscapes of the city. Free.
