six months after BECOMING CREATURE, a year and a half since BEETLES: An Interspecies Gathering, olivia and i are back with more whimsical and wild gatherings bringing together humans and nonhumans of NYC!
we’ve recently formed the CHIMERAS COLLECTIVE, a practice that organizes our interspecies community-building efforts. inspired by the boundary-blurring figure of the chimera, we’ll be adventuring into the worlds of creatures and cyborgs with our upcoming offerings:
a six-session summer course called BECOMING CYBORG
embodied research, science readings, and play will guide us towards a relationship with ourselves as technologically embedded beings. all happening in the wilds of Prospect Park. apply by May 27!
a three-session seminar called CREATURES
taught at the School of Radical Attention, this seminar explores how we might turn our disgust into fascination by attending to the lives of beloved-yet-reviled urban creatures: rat, pigeon, and cockroach
a series of embodied workshops called FIELD TRIPS
starting with the Natural History Museum, we’ll be tapping into the childlike joy of a school field trip with fresh but critical eyes
