If you can’t see the forest for the trees, can you sufficiently selective a specific portion of a thing to divorce it from its source?

This picture was taken at the Spring Church, a church that was destroyed by a fire in 1974 and then later repurposed. The hyperlink has pictures of the whole structure. It’s amusing seeing what is functionally a single room need an exit sign.
