COME JOIN THE APPLE AVENUE DETECTIVE AGENCY
We are thrilled to be returning to the La Jolla Playhouse’s Without Walls festival this spring with a brand new show, The Apple Avenue Detective Agency.
Inspired by real childhood events, this adventure inducts audiences into a pint-sized investigator club to uncover local mysteries and find closure for a good friend in very real trouble. Mischievous and deeply personal, this playable coming-of-age tale takes audiences from a backyard clubhouse through the nooks and crannies of the neighborhood, all the way to the treacherous border of growing up.
When you’re a kid the world is full of mysteries, and no one solves them alone.
Without Walls is a fabulous theater festival of which we are lucky to be a small part. We highly recommend you plan to spend the day at the festival taking in as much as you can.
Anyone that was at the Worlds in Play summit this past January got a small taste of what we’re working on and we’re very excited to share with you if you join us in San Diego.
40 WATTS FROM NOWHERE: THE DOCUMENTARY
The real Sue Carpenter is putting together the definitive documentary about KBLT, our favorite illegal 1990s radio station from Silver Lake. She’s got a great team behind it all and is kickstarting finishing funds to get it out to you all.
For anyone that came through Mister and Mischief’s 40 Watts From Nowhere experience, you may get a kick out of seeing actual footage from the actual radio station!
While we are not directly producing this documentary, we have a deep love of all things KBLT, so please support Sue in her production and share with all your music history nerds, Los Angeles nerds, and do not share with the FCC.
RECON 2024
Andy is honored to have been invited to speak at RECON 2024: Los Angeles.
RECON (Reality Escape Convention) offers a curated collection of talks and experiences exploring the business and art of escape room and immersive game creation.
Andy will be giving a talk entitled Empowering Your People: Directing Scripted and Unscripted Performance.

If you're reading this in New York City, we have good news-- one of our favorite creators, Koryn Wicks, is bringing her show CASTING to NYC in a few weeks.
Tickets are almost sold out! This show is a ton of fun.
CASTING invites audiences to see whether they have that star power it takes to book the big gig. Absurd and poignant, CASTING explores the choices we make when we want to stand out and those we make when we want to connect. The experience combines theater, dance and interactive sound and video design.
For something a little different-- but equally intriguing-- we recommend the Order of the Golden Scribe. Check out the website for the proper description, but it's high tea and puzzles and theater and you should go.
