How is it Already March?
Greetings! You are getting this because you expressed interest in what we’re up to. We’re glad you did!
Here at Mister & Mischief we’re big fans of keeping our promises, so when we told you these newsletters are occasional, infrequent, and aligned-with-no-discernable-schedule-whatsoever, we feel like we’ve nailed it.
Today we’ve got some highlights for you and some links for your clicky fingers.
Let’s begin!
Big News for the Bureau

The Bureau of Nooks and Crannies has been awarded a Recognition of Merit by the Thea Awards, which honor excellence, innovation, and outstanding achievement in the themed entertainment industry.
We continue to hear wonderful anecdotes of how The Bureau has impacted folks' experience and love for the library, and we are thrilled to have a spotlight on the work the Los Angeles Public Library is doing to nurture and support all types of artistic expression.
We’re looking forward to May, when we get a chance to share more about this project with the TEA during their INSPIRE Summit. In the meantime, you can still check out The Bureau of Nooks and Crannies at six different LAPL branches.
Night at the Library 2026
Pardon me, did somebody say “Library?” This year the Library Foundation of Los Angeles is throwing a party to celebrate the 100th birthday of Central Library. Night at the Library: A Century of Light is on May 2nd at the Richard J. Riordan branch in downtown LA. We are excited to have been invited back to create an experience at this auspicious and raucous event. Pre-sale tickets are available HERE. Last year this event sold out very quickly (so jump in there and get your tickets so you don’t miss out!). We had a blast welcoming almost 3,000 guests to The Narrative Treatment Plant.
What hijinx will we be bringing this year? Stay tuned!

Again! Again! (Again!)
We’re delighted to be featured this week in L.A. Parent, which just published a lovely spotlight on our work, our creative partnership, and the strange, joyful overlap of art-making and parenting that fuels Again! Again!
Our latest project finished a whirlwind winter of workshopping. We started in Denver, where we ran playtests at the home of the incredible OddKnock Productions. Shout out to our hosts and all our generous playtesters.
Next stop was San Diego for La Jolla Playhouse DNA 2025! It was an honor to take part in this New Work series, and we had the added joy of being joined by the hilarious Molly Renze, whose antics had a profound impact on this piece.

Then off to Bentonville for the INVERSE Performance Art Festival at Crystal Bridges sister-site, The Momentary. We were joined by our collaborator the brilliant and big-hearted Tiffany Ogburn, and we got to run Again! Again! in a repurposed cheese factory. To share this piece with so many inspiring artists was an indelible experience. Next time you see us, ask us about the Bat Rave.

What’s next? Thank you for asking!
Again! Again! is headed to La Jolla Playhouse’s Without Walls Festival April 23-26! Broadway World calls the WOW Festival four days of “fearless and fun activations that electrify” San Diego, featuring more than 20 local, national and international artists.
There are free and paid events for all ages. Visit wowfestival.org to plan your festival adventure. Tickets are on sale at this very moment, and we hope you’ll join us.

And while you’re there…make sure you check out the full WoW lineup. It's loaded with fascinating performance adventures including Tea Party at the End of the World, The Nightwatch, Handle With Care and Molly Went Missing. (Not Molly Renze! We know where she is! She’s at The Elysian!)

Here’s where are heads are at
If we waited until the world calmed down before we shared any updates, we would be waiting forever. In spite of the chaos, we still believe in building and sharing ways we can connect, play, and keep our imagination close at hand.
With that in mind, we recommend joining our friends at Dance Quest on Saturday March 7th in Griffith Park, Los Angeles, for a healthy dose of sunshine, hope, and boogie, that is a potent combination of silly and restorative to assist us in springing forward.

Meanwhile, back in 1974, head on over to Catch One in Koreatown for a dynamite good time at Brassroots District! This immersive funk show, created by Ari Herstand and Andrew Leib, is a ton of fun. Grab your tickets, get on your frantic threads, and get funky!
As always, thank you for reading, thank you for subscribing, and thank you for supporting us by showing up, telling a friend, or double-tapping a like on Instagram. We’re a small team that continues to grow and knowing y’all are out there having fun makes us happy.
See you real soon,
Andy & Jeff
