Hej (ny*) prenumerant!

"By constantly sending commands that triggered this mechanism, the team were able to carry out a kind of denial of service attack. “We are able to easily stop the robot from ever being properly reset, thus effectively making a surgical procedure impossible,” they say.
And if this kind of cyberattack weren’t bad enough, the video connection was also publicly available allowing almost anybody to watch the operation in real time."

- Intressant om lågkostiga DIY-innovationer inom medicinsk teknik, med fokus på MIT-labbet Little Devices - "The Next Generation of Medical Tools May Be Home-Brewed":
"Most people on Planet Earth simply do not have the money or the insurance to gain access to the high-tech equipment and specialized physicians enjoyed by the wealthier strata. The little devices Gómez-Márquez champions are low-cost alternatives designed for ubiquity. They share more of the DNA of your child’s Legos than the sleek Apple Watches that hospitals are already offering patients. But don’t let their simplicity fool you."

- Under uppbyggnad vid The National Museum of Computing i Bletchley Park: The Imitation Archive.
"Award-winning sound artist and composer Matt Parker will start his project, The Imitation Archive, this week and he will produce a permanent sound archive of the restored and recreated working machines at the Museum. The archive, the first of its kind, will represent the phenomenal progress of computing over the past 70 years and will be lodged in the British Library as well as TNMOC.
Once recorded and archived, Parker will use the audio material to create a series of interlinked musical compositions that will reflect the development of computing from the code-breaking Colossus computer up to the present day."
- Du har tills nästa torsdag på dig! Moondrawings.org: "Using this web site, you can contribute a drawing—which will be micro-etched on a sapphire disc, sent to the Moon aboard a robotic lander/rover, and potentially traced by the rover into the Moon's soil."
