Enjoy Life: Wanting What You Have
Did you know that it’s possible to get significant relief from stress without changing anything about your circumstances?
In the last three newsletters I’ve introduced the three imperatives I live by to keep myself balanced while coping with terminal cancer. My plan now is to dig into each of them a bit more and analyze how I’ve put them into practice. In this and future newsletters we’ll start with the easiest steps to take when at rock bottom and then gradually work our way toward things you can do once you’ve gotten your feet under you.
The first imperative on my list is “Enjoy life,” so let’s start with the part of that you can do without making any major changes: learning to better enjoy what you already have. “Want what you have” isn’t innovative; it’s a phrase you’ve heard many times. Unfortunately, people rarely tell you how to achieve it, and it’s not as simple as it sounds. So let’s break it down a little.
