Minimalissimo Weekly Edit
Minimalissimo in Design
Hello. I hope you've had a good week. I'm pleased to say that we are on course to print the Selection photo book in early June. We are in the process of applying some finishing touches to the arrangement, as well as a minor adjustment to the cover design. Hyped to share this with you soon. You can pre-order a copy today.
We have a number of small and large scale projects on the horizon besides the book, one of which is a website redesign. Albeit not a complete overhaul. It will likely be an evolution of our existing site. It is something we have pencilled in to begin in the second half of the year, so watch this space.
Another project, which I have previously mentioned, is our 3D model designs. We have designed a couple of products already, but we are aiming to design a launch collection of 5 products consisting of various homewares and/or desk accessories. No food or drink utensils though. The health and safety concerns related to those are not worth it. The design direction for these will naturally be minimal, but with a focus on brutalism. Besides being a more sustainable approach to manufacturing, the beauty of this project will be the fact that you, as a consumer of the 3D model file, can download and modify the design before printing. I appreciate it is quite futuristic and it will take a number of years to gather momentum and change people's mindsets, but I believe in it and is something I will personally be doing regardless.
For all projects we're working on, you can see updates in our Sync, which you'll get access to by becoming a member.
Our features over the past week include a couple of dwellings situated in Australia and Japan that represent different applications of minimalism, yet both equally aesthetic. We weren't in the mood for a mood this week, so instead decided to showcase a simple little table lamp that we're sure you'll enjoy. Have a read, take it slow, and enjoy your Sunday.
