Minimalissimo Weekly Edit
Minimalissimo in Design
Hello. I hope you've had a good week. I'm presently writing from an all too familiar desk that I've been attached to on a daily basis for the past 6 months. It's far from a bad setup, but sometimes I wish I owned a laptop to take with me for a walk, and write on a hill-top somewhere. Then I remember I live in Scotland, and even August doesn't really offer good conditions to go do that. So here I am, in a small yet minimal home-office with a coffee and ginger biscuit.
So what is new at Minimalissimo? Alongside our weekly features on the site, the focus at the moment is building the print magazine, which is slowly coming together. I sent a more detailed update to our members yesterday, but in short, we're finalising the curation phase and will be moving to the design phase next month. As with all projects, when momentum builds, so too does the excitement. I'll update you on progress in a few weeks time. We also have a couple of smaller things brewing, which I'm hoping to share with you next week.
Our features over the past week include a Picasso-inspired valet stand designed by Kaschkasch and a remarkably serene visualisation of a Japanese garden by Barcelona-based studio Six N. Five. We also get to grips with a collection of sustainably produced paint colours by Gris inspired by architecture and light. Have a read, take it slow, and enjoy your Sunday.

Features
908 Valet Stand
As a homage to the great Spanish painter Pablo Picasso and his single line drawing technique without his pen leaving the paper, duo Florian Kallus and Sebastian Schneider of design studio Kaschkasch have created an elegant, minimal, and sculpturally appealing valet stand, titled 908.
Gris Paints
A modernist paint brand brings a necessary dose of innovation to an oft-stale realm of the design industry. Gris Paints is a collection of sustainably produced paint colours inspired by architecture, light, and place. 17 monochrome colours promise to ease the strain of this critical decision and guide us in to beauty.

House in Messines
Vitor Vilhena's House in Messines is a monolithic volume with geometric carvings. Rising out of lush hills and brown soil, its minimal white form toys with the rise and fall of the landscape topography, twisting the human occupancy in various elevations and positions.
