Minimalissimo Weekly Edit

Minimalissimo in Design

Hello. I hope you’ve enjoyed a little festive break. Feeling optimistic about this year? It’s difficult to make plans as we really don’t know what will unfold, and although I think it’s important to lower our expectations, we can always raise our standards. And that is something we have continued to do year on year. And with this mind, we’re going to continue publishing good design of others and have fun producing some of our own.

For all projects we’re working on, you can see updates in our Sync, which you’ll get access to by becoming a member.

Our features over the past week include a visit to Saronikos in Greece to admire a quite spectacular elevated residence by Mado Samiou Architecture. We celebrate the latest works of the prolific Japanese design studio, Nendo, with an artistic lighting collection, and in our featured mood we feel the benefits of purified air because like this new year, it feels like a fresh start for all of us. Have a read, take it slow, and enjoy your Sunday.

— Carl Barenbrug, Creative Director

House in a Park

Across the verdant parkland, an array of cubic volumes creates an urban landscape. Their offset facades of grey stones overlook Lake Zurich, dotted with gatherings of birches and pines from the forest nearby. This minimalist project is House in a Park by Think Architecture.
