Minimalissimo Weekly Edit
Minimalissimo in Design
Hello. I hope you’ve had a good week. With the artwork of the Selection book finalised, we are now focusing on materials. Not so much for the contents—that’s sorted. It is more about the cover material and tone. Currently reviewing samples and will look to get that finalised in the coming days/weeks.
Besdies that, we added a new digital product to the shop this week. We call it Hidden Wallpapers, designed specifically for iPhones. With these gradient style designs, we have carefully blended the colours with those of the iOS dock background and the iPhone’s oh-so-loved notch, which near perfectly hides them.
For all projects we’re working on, you can see updates in our Sync, which you’ll get access to by becoming a member.
Our features over the past week include a visit to Oita City to admire an expansive yet minimal dwelling by Kubota Architect Atelier. We celebrate a space-saving and utilitarian task lamp by Philippe Malouin, and in our featured mood we witness a revolt. Beware the household objects. Have a read, take it slow, and enjoy your Sunday.

Features
Line Lamp
Born out of necessity, Philippe Malouin has designed the sleek LED Line Lamp for Chinese furniture brand ZaoZuo. A thin, space-saving frame complimented by curved edges, 350º rotation, and touch dimming.
AR House
Woven patches of grass in green hues slope down AR House, designed by Kubota Architect Atelier, like an artistic configuration of an open park. It then becomes an invite to a public domain, carpeting the built structure like a natural platform for a minimal sculpture.

The Wandanlage, Reimagined
How do you bring a timeless object into modern times? This was the question posed by designer Virgil Abloh as he worked to update Braun’s Wandanlage, an audio wall system designed by Dieter Rams. The Wandanlage, Reimagined is an icon inspired by an icon—a piece of design that is easily as impressive as it was 60 years ago.
