Minimalissimo Weekly Edit

What's Happening?

Hello. I hope you've had a good week. I finally managed to get my new setup in place in the home office, which feels great. If you're not a fan of dark setups, it might not be for you, but I'm really enjoying working from this space. Here's a photo for reference.

And related to the above photo, our good friends over at Studio Lenzing helped us push an update to our SLM 613 wallpapers collection. Notably for desktop where we made the walls available for 4k, 5k, and 6k display sizes and introduced a couple of new designs. We also made a set of dynamic versions as well, which change throughout the day. Take a look and if you like, please download.

Check out some of our recent features and one from the archive below. You should also buy our beautiful new photo book, Selection: Architecture. Have a read, take it slow, and enjoy your Sunday.

Brighton House

The Brighton House project by Adam Kane Architects sees the transformation and expansion of an existing Edwardian residence into an open and light-filled contemporary dwelling. Balancing the old with the new, the design utilises a series of linear approaches to reinforce a sense of clarity and calm throughout.

House With Clear Shapes and a Complex Entrance

How does one assimilate the art and culture of LA into a minimal design? House With Clear Shapes and a Complex Entrance is more of a living sculpture than a traditional house. The structure gets its name from the floor plan, which is literally an overlap of two shapes: a triangle and square. While functionally impractical, this design is the perfect showcase for abstract art in habitable form.

Surface Chair

Surface is a series of carbon fibre furniture consisting of a dining chair and table, designed in collaboration by Terence Woodgate and John Barnard for British contemporary design brand, Established & Sons. Using cutting-edge technology, this super-slim carbon fibre chair achieves the same impossibly thin aesthetic as the Surface Table. Its perfect proportions and seamless, woven carbon fibre surface bring to the design world the high-tech engineering and flowing lines of Formula 1 racing.
