MINIMALISSIMO EDITED

I don't try to reimagine whole systems. I just start with people, and I’m very clear about my place and my contribution. I like this idea that what I do is in service to humanity, to culture, to people. It’s a place I find very comfortable. Our motivation is not only what defines us in terms of our values but also our fuel for what we do. I can’t think of a more profoundly powerful fuel than realising that what I’m doing is for other people, not for myself.
– Jony Ive
What's happening?
I feel conflicted. But it's through excitement. On one hand I've got a vision to create beautiful new tools for people. I'm brimming with fuel to craft something tasteful; something of quality. Yet the production of these can only be achieved as a collaborative effort. On the other hand, my patience is constantly being tested through a staggered execution. What is a priority for me, isn't a prio for others. And for good reason. Rarely are prios aligned, unless they're forced upon you, or someone manages to convince you, or you throw enough money at it. But when you're not in a position to force action nor have the resources to accelerate it, then all that's left is communication. A way to engage collaborators that sustained contribution is meaningful beyond the tangible. When contribution gathers momentum, work feels simpler. Ideas come easily, decisions are made convincingly, friction subsides, confidence grows, and the product shines.
I'm going to do my best to generate some good momentum in the coming months to hit the ground running in the new year. And I can't wait to show you what's brewing.

DESK LAMP 202102
As we're fully aware, less is often more, and that's precisely the ethos behind Copenhagen-based designer August Hugo's creation; the Desk Lamp 202102. Standing at a modest 45cm in height, this lamp is a study in minimalism. Crafted entirely from stainless steel, it exudes an air of sleek elegance.
SUSTAINABLE SONIC TOOTHBRUSH
SURI (Sustainable Rituals), a British sustainable wellness brand, has introduced its groundbreaking and simple looking Sustainable Sonic Toothbrush, which delivers an eco-conscious, superior clean. This innovative toothbrush, designed with dental expertise, operates at an impressive 33,000 sonic vibrations per minute. What sets the toothbrush apart is its commitment to environmental responsibility.
SOULAGES MUSEUM
In 2008, RCR Arquitectes and Passelac & Roques Architects joined forces for the Soulages Museum's design competition, selected among 98 applicants. They placed the museum in Rodez's renovated Foirail garden, bridging the historic centre and modern districts. The minimalist building consists of cubes with openings reminiscent of Aveyron's "fenestras," inviting contemplation. Corten steel clads the exterior, aging gracefully, harmonising with the natural park.
LCP LOUNGE CHAIR
The LCP lounge chair, also known as the 6040 model, is a remarkable piece of furniture crafted by Belgian designer Maarten van Severen for the renowned Italian furniture brand, Kartell in 2002. What sets the LCP chair apart is its construction; it's crafted from a single mould of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA).
CONE TABLE LAMP
The Cone Table Lamp, a creation by Kristina Dam Studio, is a minimal and modern marvel that immediately draws the eye. With a brushed aluminium lampshade and a body crafted from solid walnut, it's a beautifully crafted object. Designed for contemporary and bold interiors, this sculptural lamp is a series that showcases a unique geometric design, tapering smoothly from a circular base to an elegant apex.
RETIRÉ ATHÉNIEN
This residential project, designed by Agis Mourelatos Architects, took a top floor flat on the 13th level of an Athenian Polykatoikia, transforming it from a three-bedroom layout into an open floor plan that encourages bonding and communication. They even converted a separate guest house into an office.
