Hello supporters! I just finished a really juicy read last week and couldn’t stop mulling it over in conversation with some other related titles ~ that meant I just had to write about it here. I hope you enjoy contemplating the drama of shared family properties and wealth and class dynamics with me! And remember, all weekday newsletters are now just for paid subscribers ~ thank you for valuing and supporting my work here ♡
Friends, I read and can’t look away from so many books about family dramas caused by shared vacation properties ~ I just shake my head and think, “Well, bad things were bound to happen ~ they always do with shared property.” and also, ironically and righteously, “How dare they own more than one home when so many are unhoused and can’t afford basic necessities?”. But the allure of that shared summer home, the gathering place, the sheer decadence of owning more than one property in this tragically unequal world ……. it has a strong, strong pull.
