Hello readers!
At our house, December is a bittersweet time of the year ~ yay for the holiday vibes, but it also means my husband is NEVER home. He drives for UPS and this is their hell period ~ insanely late nights, no calling in sick unless actually in the hospital, no vacations allowed, usually terrible roads, and lots of impatient customers. His schedule is always unpredictable and nights can always be late, but in this season I just feel it a lot more. Theoretically it’s supposed to be a time of togetherness and celebrations, but in our house it’s …… not quite like that. Now that the kids are older, the practical implications of bedtimes and holiday concerts and such are less difficult, but it is still hard to reconcile holiday cheer with a loved one being worked into the ground to ……. deliver people’s presents? Just a reminder to be kind to your delivery workers and that any late deliveries are NEVER their fault! The only way to guarantee delivery in time for Christmas is to …….. order it really early! Or buy it in an actual store! And late presents are totally fine!
We adore this recent cover of the New Yorker ………
