I recently wrote about AI writing (ChatGPT and Canva Magic Write specifically) and was lamenting its contribution to the denigration of artistic value. However, I’m not one to linger long on feelings of existential dread (therein lies the path to never leaving my bed), so I moved right along to the practical matters at hand in my high school classroom. I signed up weeks ago for GPTZero, a detection tool for teachers that can help determine whether student writing was generated by AI. Earlier this week I received the email that the new and improved version was open for educators, so I jumped in today to test out the piece of writing I shared about last time.
