Beaches, Islands, and Lighthouses
making up for lost time on Lake Michigan

Hello there! Happy Tuesday!
I started today’s newsletter multiple ways, trying to decide if I should make sure you knew that I did not go on family vacations as a child, or maybe focus on the prohibitive expense of traveling outside of driving distance, or perhaps make sure you understood how I, a lifelong Wisconsin resident, had NEVER been to Door County before. Or maybe I should try to defend the fact that I had never before even seen Lake Michigan anywhere other than in downtown Milwaukee or in and near Chicago?
I decided to leave that all alone for today, and just focus on the adventures I had earlier this month on the East Coast of Wisconsin, traveling from home on the West Coast (on the Mississippi River) to Sheboygan, and then all the way up to the very tip (and beyond!) of the Door County Peninsula, keeping Lake Michigan in sight as much as humanly possible.
