Why Wait For January?

Start that "resolution" today

As 2025 winds down, many of us have started thinking about our New Year's resolutions.

We imagine a fresh start in January, a new version of ourselves ready to tackle big goals.

But why wait for a date on the calendar to begin?

Resolutions rely on dramatic bursts of motivation to change everything at once. Their less dramatic counterparts, Habits, rely on consistent, manageable steps that accumulate over time.

What if, instead of that grand resolution, we focused on building a simple, useful habit starting today?

By starting today, even with something tiny, we get to:

  • Break the Inertia: We prove to ourselves that we don't need a special occasion to change; we just need to commit and act.
  • Build Momentum: By the time January arrives, we won't be starting from zero. We'll already be in motion.
  • Focus on Process: Instead of fixating on a distant year-end goal, we engage with the daily process of showing up.

What is one small, useful habit you have been thinking about?

Maybe it's writing for 10 minutes, reading a few pages, or taking a daily walk.
