Stillness > Busyness
What if staying still was the action we took often?
Hi,
In our busy world, it might seem strange, but:
What if the strongest foundational skill we could develop is how to just sit quietly with ourselves for a good while?
Stillness offers us amazing benefits:
- Staying Present: When we're still, we learn to be present. We observe our thoughts and feelings without judging them.
- Self-Awareness and Clarity: Quiet time gives us space for introspection. We start to observe our thoughts and feelings, leading to greater self-awareness and clarity.
- Getting Stronger Inside: When we sit with uncomfortable feelings, we get tougher. We build strength of mind.
- Avoiding (Self) Sabotage: Stillness gives us the space to respond to the world wisely instead of reacting to it impulsively. We avoid sabotaging our best interests and those of others.
It's in the quiet moments that we gain clarity, understand ourselves, and find our inner strength.
How long can you sit still right now before distraction and discomfort creep in?
What if you practiced sitting still every day to prolong your stamina for stillness?
In stillness,
/rajesh
