New Mistakes > No Mistakes
Creating a safe space to fail
We are taught that mistakes are the enemy. We try to build lives and workflows where we can never mess up.
But an environment which discourages mistakes is an environment with zero growth.
When we stay well within our comfort zone, we don't fail. We also don't learn.
The idea isn't to avoid mistakes. It is to stop repeating the old ones and start making new ones.
- Old mistakes are habits. They are signs that we are stuck in a loop.
- New mistakes are data. They are proof that we are pushing into unknown territory.
To grow, we need to create an environment safe enough to get things wrong. We need a space where a "new mistake" is celebrated as a step forward, not punished as a failure.
Where can you create a safe container to make a new mistake this week?
Unmistakably,
