JOMO > FOMO

Trading anxiety for calm

Do you feel pulled in a dozen directions... like you need to see, do, and know about everything?

That restless feeling, the urge to keep up, is, of course, FOMO -- the Fear of Missing Out. It keeps us scrolling, clicking, and saying 'yes,' worried we'll fall behind. In the end, all it does is leave us feeling scattered and overwhelmed.

What if we revelled in JOMO -- the joy of missing out -- instead?

This joy isn't about hiding away. It's the peace and satisfaction that comes from intentional choice.

Choosing JOMO over FOMO means:

  • Directing our limited attention intentionally.
  • Accepting we can't do or experience everything.
  • Finding satisfaction in deeper engagement with fewer things.
  • Creating space for focus, quiet, and things that truly matter.

It's about trading the anxiety of FOMO for the calm focus of JOMO.

What two things are you willing to miss out on this week so you can focus on one thing that truly matters to you?

Joyfully,
/rajesh
