Action Is The Inspiration
What if action was the inspiration you've been waiting for?
Hi,
This is Rajesh welcoming you to the first issue of The Mindful Action Newsletter!
We often find ourselves stuck, waiting for that perfect spark of inspiration or a surge of motivation before we start something important. We imagine the ideal conditions, the flawless plan, the burst of energy that will propel us forward. This imagined world, crafted by our minds, feels beautiful, perfect, and oh-so-comfortable.
The problem? This world is not real.
That feeling of being stuck? It's often the result of inaction, not a lack of inspiration. We get trapped in a mental loop, waiting for a certain feeling that's, ironically enough, unlocked by action.
The truth is, action is the inspiration.
Even the tiniest step forward breaks the inertia and connects us with the real world – the world beyond our thoughts and perfect plans.
When we take action – signing up for that class, writing that first sentence, making that phone call, sketching that first line – we get to:
- Claim our place: We move from passive observer to active participant.
- Belong: We connect with something larger than ourselves.
- Participate: We engage with the world, rather than just thinking about it.
- Create impact: We begin to shape our reality, however subtly.
So, the next time you feel that familiar resistance, that urge to wait for the "perfect moment," ask yourself:
What's the smallest action I can take right now?
It might be as simple as:
- Opening a document.
- Writing a single sentence.
- Making a five-minute phone call.
- Doing one push-up.
- Putting on your walking shoes.
Then, do it.
Don't overthink it. Don't judge it. Just do it.
Let that tiny momentum build up. Let it be the spark that ignites the next action, and the next. Let doing be your inspiration.
Participate in your world. And you'll find that you have the power to shape it.
I'd love to hear from you! What's one small action you'll take today? Reply to this email and let me know.
And stay tuned for the next issue.
Have a wonderful day!
Mindfully,

Thank you Raj... I've been sitting on an essay that I've wanted to work on for a while, and all I kept doing was thinking, thinking, and thinking about it. I finally started putting pen to paper, and you're right... the action is inspiring me to push forward. Now it's time for me to do the same with the Spanish lessons I've been ignoring for the last couple of months.
Artie, that's wonderful. I am glad that your essay got going with that one small step. All the best with your Spanish lessons.
