Three Lilies Releasing January 22nd!

I'll be honest I'm tired of ALT+Numpad-ing the emdash in.

I finally feel comfortable enough to drop a concrete release date.

Three Lilies releases on January 22nd, 2023—two weeks from now!

:tada:

You can now see this reflected on the Itch page (link to Three Lilies Itch.io page).

The projected development timeline is that I either have all of City’s staging done by tonight or tomorrow night. Then I spend all of next week doing all the remaining accessibility-related tasks, and then I finish up the Android stuff and hand it over for beta testing. And then…it’s done! It’s out! We’ve done it!

Here’s the progress:

Countryside

  • Writing — 100% written and edited

  • Artwork — 100% complete

  • Programming — 90% complete, needs an accessibility pass

Suburb

  • Writing — 100% written and edited

  • Artwork — 100% complete

  • Programming — 90% complete, needs an accessibility pass

City

  • Writing — 100% written and edited

  • Artwork — 100%(?) complete. Another background is being floated, but this might have to be included in an update.

  • Programming — 53% complete (Scene 3/7 totally complete, Scene 4 in progress, up to the first quarter of Scene 5 has had sprite expressions put down, and all the sound, music, and backgrounds are in. This is the progress as of writing; this Substack post is scheduled to post later in the day.)

Game Overall (AKA the things that (mostly) aren’t the script itself like the game screens)

  • Programming — 99.2% complete, just need to do Android version-related stuff, as well as little bells and whistles like chapter introduction screens and the credits.

  • UI — 99.2% complete, just need to do Android version-related stuff.

    • Android specifics:

      • Splash/icon: done

      • Main menu: done

      • Preferences: in progress

      • Save/Load: standby

      • Textbox/quick menu: standby

  • Accessibility — All of the groundwork is implemented like functions, dictionaries etc. Chapter staging must be completed before I do a second sweep where I add image descriptions, screenshake and photosensitivity safety, etc.

See you next time!
