We're gonna be at Emerald City Comic Con this weekend! Stop by and and get comics signed (or defaced, as the case may be on Saturday, hello Chip) or just say hi!
The Milkfed Criminal Masterminds tables on the show floor are II-03 (Kelly Sue) and II-04 (Matt). We're around at the times listed below for sure and probably also some other times.
OH!! As mentioned like 3 sentences ago: the one and only (although wouldn't it be wild if we could clone him) CHIP ZDARSKY (who you know from HOWARD THE DUCK and some comic about sex) is AT EMERALD CITY ON SATURDAY! The Milkfed tables are his home base that day.
We do not charge for signatures.
We will have some of our books with us for sale. We take cash or cards, assuming the Square reader is working.
We love personalizing stuff. Don't sweat asking.
If you're a shop owner, please introduce yourself!
If you're there with CGC people please be mindful of those in line around you. We might ask you to come back later.
We're not doing any unscheduled interviews or podcasts on the show floor. Sorry.
We will sign whatever you bring, assuming we wrote it. Matt will sign Chip for a five dollar Hero Initiative donation.
We will not limit how much stuff you can get signed but might, if the line behind you is particularly long, ask that you come through again so it's more fair to everyone else.
We do our best to come early and leave late but sometimes shit happens. We will do our very level best to be here at all these times and make sure everyone gets what they want (except chip who has very "unconventional desires").

There is NOT an issue of Bitch Planet coming out tomorrow -- apologies. Issue 4 fell behind because, frankly, it was a tough one. We have two sex scenes, a fight scene, plus the rules of Megaton and we chose to redraft and redraw until we felt like we'd gotten them all right. In the case of the first sex scene, I wrote that one scene four times and Val did, I think, four separate sets of layouts and at least one page was scrapped and redone almost from scratch. I think* we ended up where we wanted to be, but it'll be on you to determine whether it works for you. I love Val's mind. Hella brilliant partner, that guy. There's one thing in particular he did that I adore. We can talk about it when we don't have to do so with a spoiler warning.
What else? David Lopez is making me cry with Captain Marvel 15. Captain Marvel and the Carol Corps is zipping along swimmingly. Kelly Thompson's my cowriter on this and she works her ass off. Gonna be a star.
I'm having a hell of a time with Pretty Deadly right now, but that's sort of the way with that book. I love it though. Even when it makes me walk through fields of broken glass.

Q: Is it still NC, if being NC is being compliant?
KS: Look, I'm kind of in a mood today, I should probably cop to that from the get-go. (See the fourth bullet point in the box above.) But I think if you've read the book at all, you need to read it again.
Non-Compliance isn't a clique. You're not, like, the preppy who just figured out that all the goth kids look alike too.
The women of Bitch Planet who are labelled non-compliant are the ones who have been systematically marginalized for their identity. And the ones who have been sent to the ACO are the ones who have steadfastly refused to participate in their own dehumanization.
I can't speak for the real world men and women who have chosen to get the tattoo for themselves. I'm sure their reasons are as various as they are, but as the co-creator of the book and the one who used the term in this context, I can tell you what I think when I see someone wearing it. To me, it says "I am finding the courage to be my authentic self, whomever he or she may be. I do not fit the box assigned me: I am too tall, too short, too fat, too thin, too loud, too soft, too silly, too serious, too masculine, too feminine, too passionate, too shy, too angry, too proud, too black, too brown, too religious, too atheist, too slutty, too frumpy, too WHATEVER-THE-FUCK IT IS that my culture will condemn me for today and I refuse cede my power. I refuse to see myself through your eyes, just as I refuse to cast that same lens on my brothers and sisters. I will hold my head high and you will support me or get the fuck out."
