Hiya, .
It's been too long.
Our fault -- travel and some family stuff, mostly. More of the same in the coming weeks. Will try to be better about keeping in touch, but you know how it is.

::Emerald City Comic Con::
Emerald City Con was a whirlwind of awesome sauce, from the Carol Corps Celebration at the Museum of Flight to the Valkyrie Breakfast, to the JAW-DROPPING experience of seeing my first two Deathface Ginny Cosplayers. We got to spend a ton of time with Chip and Roberta and my beloved Ms. Dani V, who is acting as a style consultant for BITCH PLANET with Val and I. (See some of the research she's done up on the BP Pinterest board here.) She was instantly one of my favorite people.
(I missed Emma Ríos terribly all weekend. She should have been there. Maybe next year.)
There are a number of ECCC panels online for free but the bulk of them (Including Fraction's spotlight panel and the Nerdist Writers panel) look to be available only with the Premium pass. Use coupon code ECCC14TIX to get the pass for $11.95.
(Does anyone know if the Carol Corps panel is online somewhere? I was supposed to record it for a reporter, and I, um, left the device at my table. Oops.)
::WonderCon::
The program is up and I want to call your attention to a talk I'm giving on Writing Comics. It's only an hour so it'll be quick and dirty but if you're interested in making the leap to scripting, I'd love it if you'd attend. I expect it to fill up quickly; get there early.
::HeroesCon::
Why, YES! There ARE Carol Corps activities in the works. Something brand new and very exciting. More about that as I can.

::PRETTY DEADLY::
I sold out of the Bella PRETTY DEADLY shirts at ECCC much faster than I imagined I would and I promised someone I'd put the link here. Better late than never? I will have a few PD shirts at WonderCon, but not too many I'm afraid.
The first trade is off to the printer (that's the cover up there) and I am so anxious to hold it in my hands. It's going to be a bargain at $9.99. (If you don't have a LCS you frequent, pre-order it on Amazon for $8.99.) As proud as I am of the book -- and how could I not be, with creative partners as talented as Emma Ríos, Jordie Bellaire and Clayton Cowles? -- I do think it reads better in trade. That feels like a failure on my part and hopefully one I'll learn from. To address a frequently asked question: no, the essays will not be available in the trade. We need to keep the page count down to meet the price point. We'll collect them in a prestige hardcover at some point... but it'll be the sort of thing that combines multiple arcs.
And yes, work has begun on the second arc, but alas, I don't have an idea when we'll be ready to go to press yet. This book resists rushing.
You can always send Pretty Deadly mail, fan art or cosplay to deadletters@pretty-deadly.com.
::CAPTAIN MARVEL::
Work on HIGHER FASTER FURTHER MORE continues apace as David Lopez and I get to know each other. The script for Issue 4 was a real challenge for me structurally, but David's wrapping it up now and I could not be happier. There are two bits in particular I want to brag on him for. But I can't. Not yet, anyway.
::BITCH PLANET::
I am starting to script! This book is breaking my heart in a thousand pieces all ready. Woof, this is gonna be a ride.
::PROMETHEUS PROJECT::
Oh! My involvement in the Dark Horse Prometheus project was also announced at ECCC. Our writers room met for about 4 hours on it last night and I'm very excited about how it's coming together. There's an interview up here.
Okay, this long as it is, so I'm calling it. Signing and appearance info in the TL;DR box at the bottom. If you want to send a question for Henry's advice column, you can just hit REPLY.

PS Thank you so much for all the kind words after the death of my Aunt Polly. They were, and are, of comfort.

CAPTAIN MARVEL 2
Out this past Wednesday.
Carol with the Guardians of the Galaxy and the first view of her new ship...named Harrison. For Harrison Ford.
...Duh.

ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN #50
Second chance for Valentine De Landro and I to work together, gearing up for our collaboration on BITCH PLANET later this year. This piece, called "Mystery Box" is a Superman/Lois Lane story, featuring cameos by Batman, Aquaman and Wonder Woman.
We hope it makes you smile.
