At the repeated insistence of several close friends I recently picked up Horizon Zero Dawn (I know) and ... yeah, it's very good. I'm going to say a bunch of things many other people have said before me, and in 2017: the characters and environment are compelling, the story is well paced and the way the past of the setting unfolds through the discovery of codex entries littered throughout the world is well executed. There have been several times while playing I have said - aloud - "Whoa ... this is so cool."
