Michigan-I-O Friends and Family House Show
Greetings good folk!
Your Michigan-I-O friends have been busy this winter felling metaphorical trees in the north woods in preparation for our return to civilization. In the winter of 2020, all was looking up for your friendly bards of the lumberjacks, shippers, and miners and then…well you know what happened. But, we’ve been preparing and have returned from the upper peninsula, ready to share a whole new batch of music with you.
And so with that “onward ho!” spirit which has animated us from the get-go, we invite you to a special “Friends and Family House Show” on April 1 at the home of Andy and Katie Bast (70 W. 14th Street, Holland, MI). This is a private house show we’ve been preparing just for you!
About a year ago, we headed back up north to the Upper Peninsula with a second batch of remarkable folk songs from the Great Lakes Region that Alan Lomax collected on his 1938 journey through northern Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. We’ve reimagined them and finished the raw recordings and now just need to put the finishing touches on them.
This show will serve two purposes. First, and foremost, we’ll enjoy a great evening of fellowship and folk music together where we’ll introduce you to the songs and stories of our second album – Michigan-I-O Vol. 2: Once More a Lumbering Go. Second, we’ll invite you to help us finish this album by financially supporting it! We’ll provide the music, snacks and drinks and ask you to make a contribution to the completion of the album in lieu of a ticket for the show. Please RSVP and select the level you’d like to contribute. (If you can’t make the show, you can still help make a contribution and receive the goods!)

Thank you for helping to make this music a reality. We’ve missed you and it will be such a joy to share an evening together.
Sincerely,
Michigan-I-O (Andy, Bruce, Jonathan, and Noah)
