Thanks
That’s it. It’s done. The tale of Grant and his Greener Valley neighbors is over from this standpoint; what happens to them after this is all in your imagination.
I’d like to take this time to thank my friend Kirk, without whom this story would just be pages of gibberish. He helped me hone it, shape it, nurture it. It would not have been brought to life without his help and I am indebted to him.
Thanks to the people who encouraged me along the way, from my family to my internet friends. Thanks also to the agents who turned me down but offered constructive criticism. Rejection is never fun, but hearing “this could be great” softens the blow a bit. I don’t know that I made it great, but I sure did try.
Thank you so much to every one of you who subscribed to this and took the time to read the chapters as I sent them out. It means the world to me that you wanted to read my novel. I appreciate you.
Ten plus years in the making and it’s all behind me now. All I ever wanted was for people to read my story and you did. I put it out there, people read it, I am fulfilled. I’m kind of sorry to say goodbye to Grant and crew as they have been part of my life for so long, but there comes a time when every author has to let their children go.
I have no idea what I’ll do with this substack. I’d like to keep it around in some form, maybe send out some of the short fiction I’ve written and am always writing. Maybe some essays. I hope you stay subscribed for future writings. If not, I’m glad you were along for this ride.
I always appreciate feedback. I’d love to know what you thought of the story, especially if you liked it, or if you have any questions about it. You can email me at michele.catalano@gmail.com.
Thanks again.
