joy: week 20
welcome home, reilly
In this, the 20th week of searching for joy in my life, joy has found me. Joy comes in the form of a 1.2 pound kitten named Reilly Meatball, a new addition to my household as of today. As I write, he is sleeping on my chest, curled up in a little ball. If I so much as move to get some water, he howls at me. He is adorable and affectionate and so damn tiny and cute and he’s mine. Thanks to the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter for allowing me to go home with the cutest animal they had.
Big week for me as far as joy goes because Thursday was my last day of work. I am a free woman. I had a nice little lunch with my judges and then I went home and said “huh, don’t have to go back there again.” Still waiting for it to settle in.
Also this week: new music from Jeff Rosenstock, which always makes me happy, I sat outside a lot because the weather was glorious, and September is here. Bring on fall!
I can’t write a lot this week because I have a very small cat sleeping on my chest. But I couldn’t let week 20 go by without acknowledging two huge joys. I am, for the first time in a long time, happy.
Hope you have a great week. Reilly says hey.
