Captain's log
May was nice! Winter finally turned into summer, in like 2 days, with no spring in between. Weather got warmer, insects started appearing outdoors – and I can finally enjoy outdoor freehand insect photography :)
I had fun photo walks outdoors, where I tried the Cygnustech diffuser, a cheap substitute for the Olympus 2x 90mm lens, a tilting 2x macro lens, NISI's new closeup filter. I also did macro photography with coloured background cards (the photo below) and with a old, cheap camera.
We also had covid for the second time, the whole family. So I have to say I am very happy with my productivity during the month, considering I was sick for almost two weeks out of four!

When I found @bug_ninja via this beautiful photo above, and wrote on my Instagram how much I loved it, I was very happily surprised by the message he sent me:
Every time someone tells me that my youtube videos inspired them to pick up macro photography, I feel very happy to have passed on this wonderful hobby, and proud that I managed to inspire someone.
But when the person I inspired to pick up macro photography, goes on to go on to become truly world class at this craft, far surpassing my own skills, I feel extra happy :)
